Accelerates Time to Analytic Value by Rapid Deployment of Test and Development Environments

SC11, Seattle, WA - November 14, 2011Kove and ParAccel today announced a new, joint solution available on Dell’s PowerEdge servers and Kove XPD2 Storage that enables near instantaneous analytic database duplication.  The solution combines the leading analytic platform and the leading high-performance DRAM storage, with Dell’s enterprise- class server.  The Kove-ParAccel database duplication solution enables the rapid delivery of an analytic sandbox clone that can be used by business analysts, or a quick provisioning clone for development and test in traditional on-premise environments.

“The collaboration between ParAccel and Kove using Dell servers  will enable innovative use cases for our powerful analytics platform, including the ability to Clone data to aid test and development of new analytics while increasing the quality of the data mart to the business or by deploying a parallel environment that can model an additional scenario.” said Chuck Berger, CEO for ParAccel.

In the cloning tests described above the XPD2 storage was mesh-connected to Dell PowerEdge servers running the ParAccel Database at R Systems hosting facility. Holding world records for latency, IOPS, and bandwidth, Kove’s XPD2 is the world’s fastest storage based on achieving the 14 fastest STAC-M3 Benchmarks ever.  Kove Direct Storage Access KDSAä technology outperforms all other storage media, including Flash memory and spinning disks, maintains consistent speed at any capacity level, up to 100%, and does not degrade over time.

“This collaboration in deploying the Kove Xpress Memory Disk is a continuation of our leadership in high performance storage, providing real world solutions for those who need the absolute fastest storage available,” states Kove CEO, John Overton.  “The XPD2 connects directly to storage fabrics via standard Fibre Channel and InfiniBand interconnects, while reducing end-to-end application latency beyond any other available storage.”

"With rapid data growth and requirements for even faster analysis, customers are challenged to find more efficient ways to solve this problem," said Bob Barris, vice president of Global Sales, Banking and Securities at Dell.  “Dell continues to look for new ways to help enterprise database customers improve IT efficiency and today’s demonstration reinforces that there are affordable solutions to rapidly analyze data."

ParAccel running on Kove premium high performance storage benefits a number of real world use cases, especially in Financial Service in the areas of Risk, Fraud, and Trading.

  • In Risk Management, stress testing does far more than simply keeping regulators at bay: it helps executives make better strategic decisions, and determines if their future plans will drive optimal profits with acceptable exposure to multiple sources of risk.  The combined solution enables a centralized platform for holistic risk analysis – across all categories of risk such Counter-Party Credit Risk, Market Risk, etc. The ability for virtually unlimited scaling of datasets and analytic complexity provides a unified platform for risk assessment across the entire organization.
  • In Trading, the combined solution enables firms and traders to perform unconstrained back-testing at unprecedented speeds along any dimension across the entire dataset – ranging from TBs to PBs of trading data. The combined solution also delivers extreme performance for HFT (high frequency trading) platforms using industry-standard building blocks.
  • In Fraud Detection, ParAccel enables firms to parallel load massive amounts of data concurrent with queries to ensure that Fraud Analysts have access to the most current data, mitigating significant financial losses by putting the lid on crime at the point of sale.

ParAccel Announces Cloud Edition

On demand analytic platform accelerates time to market, reduces project risk, and cost.

Campbell, California, November 2, 2011 – ParAccel, Inc., developer of the world’s most powerful analytic platform, today announced ParAccel Cloud Edition available for deployment on premise in a private cloud or in a public cloud. ParAccel Cloud Edition speeds time to analytic value allowing near instant deployment of the ParAccel Analytic platform, reducing project risk and allowing enterprise customers to provision just the amount of storage and compute power they need.

Successful enterprises realize they can significantly accelerate revenue growth and profitability by unlocking the value of the data they collect from their business operations and customer interactions. Legacy databases and data warehouses are unable to process the volume of data, the variations in data types, or the complexity of analytics in a timely manner. ParAccel has developed an analytic platform that allows enterprises to conduct analytics that were not previously possible with these legacy database vendors.

ParAccel Cloud Edition allows enterprises to quickly provision an analytic platform right sized for the task at hand and to adjust the compute resources as the workload varies. ParAccel Cloud Edition also allows enterprises to shift resources between functions as needed in either a public or private cloud.

ParAccel Cloud Edition includes the ParAccel analytic database which enables integrated analytics through an extensibility framework as the foundation for complex analytics on large, varied datasets. Future versions of the Cloud Edition will include a provisioning tool that provides an intuitive interface and allows end users to set up this analytic platform in a matter of minutes. With this tool, and in order to speed the adoption of analytic “sandboxes,” the end users will find their sandbox already populated with prebuilt and off-the-shelf analytic functions and the capability to provision all required data. The solution will support the delivery of custom analytics and the rapid provisioning of multiple analytic instances. The result is rapid spin-up and spin-down of sandbox deployments, plus the ability to transfer into production with the click of a button.

“Our customers want to focus on the business value of analytics; they don’t want to worry about all the technology behind that effort,” said Chuck Berger, chairman and CEO of ParAccel. “Jumping onto the cloud or becoming a cloud provider within the walls of their organization sets the stage for new business applications that drive profitability and reduce risk.”

ParAccel Analytic Offload Accelerates Enterprise-Wide Decision Making

Analytic Platform offering unleashes analytic backlog, frees valuable data warehouse resources

Campbell, Calif. –August 10, 2011 – ParAccel, Inc., provider of the world’s leading analytic platform, today released its Analytic Offload Solution, a combination of products and services developed for offloading analytic workloads from data warehouses.  The new solution drives more accurate decisions, uncovers previously hidden risks and opportunities, and improves price performance by up to 100 times.[1]

As more organizations conduct complex analytics on sophisticated workloads, the traditional Business Intelligence (BI) infrastructure cannot keep up with the pace. Consequently, companies restrict access to important data or limit access by providing summarized data, which may result in inaccurate business decisions. For companies whose analytics were previously constrained, the solution aligns workloads with the right platforms, opens the door to new business innovation, and extends the life of existing data warehouse investments.

Offloading is built on the ParAccel Analytic Platform, an analytic database surrounded by extensibility and integration technology that serves as a foundation for analytics across the enterprise. In addition, ParAccel is launching a set of services designed to help companies identify the right workloads for offloading, quick start the analytic process, and rapidly progress to new application areas.

“We are seeing an increased demand across multiple industries for cross-organizational analytics programs, driven by new data sources like sensors and mobile transactions,” said Wayne Eckerson, director of Research at TechTarget. “Today, more executives and business leaders understand the high value of analytics and expect their organizations to expand the number of decisions that are driven by data.”

ParAccel’s new Analytic Offload Solution lets analytic-driven companies  analyze any amount of data. They can quickly access, import, and integrate data and analytic sources  from all areas across the organization. The offload process allows companies to experience more powerful analytic technology without disrupting data center standards. More importantly, the new solution enables them to rapidly spin-up and spin-down analytic data marts.

“Our customers demand an analytic solution that gives them speed and agility while answering the most complex and sophisticated questions asked by the business,” said Chuck Berger, chairman and CEO of ParAccel. “Adding ParAccel to their existing data infrastructure sets the analytic stage for new business applications and results that drive profitability and reduce risk.”

The solution sets the stage for unconstrained analytic performance regardless of the scale of data or the complexity of the analysis. Companies adopting the offload strategy are now able to span the entire analytic lifecycle from discovery to operational analytics.

[1] Based on an internal proof of concept where the ParAccel Offload Solution increased performance ten times at one-tenth of the cost, compared to upgrading the existing data warehouse platform.

“ParAccel and MicroStrategy share a common goal of enabling organizations to quickly and easily use the cloud to develop and deploy friendly, social, mobile and viral business intelligence applications,” said Sanju Bansal, COO of MicroStrategy.  “MicroStrategy Cloud will combine the power and flexibility of ParAccel’s analytical engine with MicroStrategy’s industry-leading business intelligence, enabling organizations to deliver large scale applications faster and more cost effectively than ever before.”

“We are excited to participate in the next generation of cloud-based analytic services,” commented Chuck Berger, chairman and CEO of ParAccel.  “MicroStrategy is an ideal partner for ParAccel as both of our companies are focused on providing best-of-breed analytic solutions to organizations where information analysis is understood to be a significant competitive advantage.”

ParAccel Joins the NYSE Technologies Data Partner Program and Releases Utility to Deliver Unprecedented Integration of Market Data

Company to Demonstrate Breakthrough High Performance Analytics on NYSE Technologies’ Data Products at the Upcoming SIFMA Conference

Campbell, CA. – June 13, 2011 – ParAccel, Inc., provider of the world’s leading analytic platform, today announced that it has joined the NYSE Technologies Market Data Partner Program and released a utility that makes it significantly easier to conduct breakthrough analysis on market data generated by NYSE Technologies, a division of NYSE Euronext (NYSE: NYX). ParAccel is demonstrating its advanced analytic capabilities on NYSE Technologies market data at SIFMA’s Financial Services Technology Leaders Forum, being held this week in New York City from June 14-16.

Trade data volumes continue to grow at breakneck speeds, driven by increasingly complex trading strategies that use highly sophisticated automated trading systems. For financial institutions to maintain competitive advantage in capital markets, they must be able to scale their analysis faster than their data growth rates. These firms are starting to recognize that their traditional analytic solutions will not keep pace with the new generation of extreme analytic requirements.

“Firms trading in markets around the world rely on NYSE Technologies to deliver market data quickly and efficiently to help them optimize trading strategies across multiple exchanges and asset classes,” said Seth Payne, Historical Data Product Manager at NYSE Technologies.   “The ParAccel platform is another way we are helping customers better execute their business transactions by rapidly integrating critical data into their analytic platform.”

A number of the world’s largest financial institutions have turned to the ParAccel Analytic Database (PADB) to power their business. The release of the ParAccel Integration Utility makes it even easier for new and existing customers to more easily leverage the massive amounts of financial data available through NYSE Technologies’ global data products. Leveraging analytic integration capabilities released recently in PADB 3.1 , the utility loads and transforms NYSE Technologies Daily TAQ, OpenBook, and ArcaBook historical data sets at unprecedented speeds directly into ParAccel’s analytic platform. ParAccel Announces General Availability of New In-Database Analytics Libraries in Partnership with Fuzzy Logix

The Integration of the ParAccel Analytic Database (PADB) and DB Lytix from Fuzzy Logix Provides a High Performance, Best-of-Breed Platform for Predictive Analytics

Campbell, Calif. – March 14, 2011 – ParAccel, Inc., provider of the leading high-performance analytics platform, introduces additional analytic libraries that leverage PADB’s ability to execute advanced analytics directly inside the database. They were developed in close partnership with Fuzzy Logix, a leading provider of innovative analytics solutions. ParAccel’s customers can now leverage hundreds of additional off-the-shelf functions based on Fuzzy Logix’s DB Lytix – an in-database analytics software library. The combined best-of-breed solution boosts analytic performance, accelerates time-to-analysis, and eliminates analytic silos.

Customers can now reduce cycle times up to 70 percent by eliminating the need to copy and replicate data to specialized platforms for advanced analytics. Moving the analytics inside the database also provides more reliable and precise results based on a full available dataset rather than a limited subset. Because the additional functions can be leveraged using standard Structured Query Language (SQL) and business intelligence tools, companies can easily accelerate their use of sophisticated advanced analytics across the organization.

“ParAccel’s partnership with Fuzzy Logix enables customers to derive even more value from their data using our high-performance analytic platform,” said Barry Zane, founder and CTO of ParAccel. “Our partnership ultimately provides customers with additional sophisticated analytics that they need to tackle the challenge of predictive analytics, along with our existing support for custom functions, MapReduce and integration with structured and unstructured data.”

Now organizations can choose from hundreds of additional pre-built functions in their analysis, removing the need to spend time and money to create functions such as Monte Carlo simulations or multiple regression for their analyses. Fuzzy Logix and ParAccel are also working in tandem to provide a unique library of advanced functions for Financial Services that will be released later this year.

“ParAccel’s high-performance database is an ideal platform for Fuzzy Logix’s extensive in-database analytics solutions,” said Partha Sen, CEO of Fuzzy Logix. “The combination of PADB and DB Lytix will eliminate the costly and time consuming process of moving large amounts of data for performing analytics. By running in-database analytics natively in PADB, companies can quickly and efficiently achieve performance gains that range from 10X to over 100X.”

To learn how to realize the potential of predictive analytics, please attend the “Power and Promise of Big Analytics” workshop at GigaOM’s Structure Big Data 2011 event at Pier Sixty at the Chelsea Piers in New York City on March 23, 2011. ParAccel’s Bala Narasimhan and Fuzzy Logix’s Jim Zhang will co-present at 10:30 a.m. ET.

About Fuzzy Logix

Fuzzy Logix is a leading predictive analytics software and services company. Fuzzy Logix enables companies to embed in-database analytics directly into their business processes, data warehouses, enterprise applications, devices, and web services. By directly integrating analytics into the areas where data already resides, Fuzzy Logix enables enormous processing efficiencies and dramatically reduces the cycle time for analytics.

Fuzzy Logix was founded by investment bankers. The vision for the company was conceived in 1995 and since then extensive research and development efforts were undertaken by the founding partners in the areas of quantitative finance and high performance computational methods. These efforts resulted in the development of more than 800 different types of algorithms in the areas of Statistics, Data Mining and Predictive Analytics, Monte Carlo Simulations, Financial Analytics, Geo Spatial Analytics and Text Analytics. These algorithms were written in C/C++ and C# and later formed the very foundation on which Fuzzy Logix has evolved over the last few years.

ParAccel Positioned in the Visionaries Quadrant of the Magic Quadrant for Data Warehouse Database Management

Technology Research Company Recognizes ParAccel’s Ability to Execute and
Completeness of Vision

Campbell, Calif.—March 2, 2011— ParAccel, Inc., provider of the world’s fastest analytic database, today announced it has been positioned by Gartner, Inc. in the “Visionaries” quadrant of the “Magic Quadrant for Data Warehouse Database Management Systems.”1 The report measures vendors on a set of criteria that include “completeness of vision” and “ability to execute.”

“We believe our position in the ‘Visionaries’ quadrant of Gartner’s ‘Magic Quadrant for Data Warehouse Database Management Systems’ affirms what we have been hearing from our customers in the last 18 months,” said ParAccel CEO, Chuck Berger. “ParAccel’s analytic database empowers companies to solve their most challenging, data-driven analytic problems in minutes rather than days, enabling them to make business decisions that give them clear advantage over their competitors.”

Analytics is becoming the key business requirement for an increasing number of companies worldwide that are seeking real-time data insight. ParAccel Analytic Database (PADB), designed to execute intense analytic computations on vast data volumes with unprecedented performance, is helping enterprises fundamentally change how they do business. With the introduction of extensible analytics, companies can bring custom and off-the-shelf advanced analytics to their data rather than move the data to the analytics, boosting performance by 10-100X. An open, flexible framework for extensible analytics also enables customers to integrate new data processing frameworks like Hadoop (Map Reduce) into their overall analytical process.
